You are under assault. All your life you’ve been bombarded with popular but destructive little sayings that contribute to your self-image and worldview. You hear them, internalize them, and repeat them to others, perpetuating a vicious circle of negativity and self-defeatism.
These sayings have only the power you give them. They are old lies; fight them with new truths. Every time you hear one of these nasty little nuggets, counter with its opposite. You’ll feel better, grow stronger, and make the world a little brighter.
